Easy Cotton Knit Dishrag
Size 8 needles, cotton yarn - this looks really good with a 2 or 3 color variegated.
This project starts in the corner of a diamond and increases to the desired size.
Cast on 4 stitches
K2, slip yarn over needle (YO), K2.
Next row. K2, slip yarn over needle (YO), K3. Note: you will knit into the slipped yarn from the previous row. This creates a "lace" type edge and increases by one knit stitch each row.
K2, slip yarn over needle (YO), K4. Continue each row in this pattern until you reach 35 - 40 stitches depending on size of dishrag you want.
DECREASE ROWS
K 1, K2tog, slip yarn over needle (YO), K2tog, K30 (33)
Continue in this pattern until there are 4 knit stitches left on the needle.
Bind off last 4 knits.
To make a loop, create a chain with end yarn. Attach at the base on the loop with a yarn needle and tie off.
There is a VARIATION on the dishrag that makes a coaster.
